Dear Old Shebbearian
Re: REUNIONS IN 2008
100th Annual Reunion at the Royal Air Force Club, London,
Saturday 26th January, 2008
Centenary Reunion at Shebbear College, Shebbear on
Saturday 30th August, 2008
2008 is a special year for the OSA, and it has been decided to
hold two Reunions to celebrate this.
The January, Saturday 26th Reunion at the Royal Air Force Club in
Piccadilly, London will include, as our quests, many former Heads
(or their descendents). Click for
Details.
The cost of attending the London Reunion is high, particularly for
younger members who also have to arrange accommodation, and the
Committee has decided to subsidise this cost to encourage younger
members to attend. As the enclosed (please click) 26 Jan 08 Booking
Form shows, this is held at £39.
The cost for students is again subsidised at £25, but we would ask anyone claiming this substantial discount to write a few words stating where they are training, what course and what year. This information will form the basis of a feature Shebbearian article.
Knowing the costs of attending the London Reunion, particularly
for those from the West Country, it has been agreed with the
College that we will also hold a Reunion at the College on Saturday
30th August, 2008. This will be available for both Old Shebbearians
and their partners, unlike the London Reunion, which is for Old
Shebbearians only. There is some accommodation available at the
college (single, double and small dormitories) and these will be
available together with tea on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday
morning at a low cost. There are also many local B&Bs, and we
will try and supply a list of these near the time.

From our recent survey it is clear this will be a popular event. More details will be available in the Spring.
Returning to the January Reunion, in anticipation of a large
turn-out and with limited capacity, tickets will be available on a
‘first come, first served basis’, with full payment
accompanying the Application, payable to the OSA. The invitation
will go on the OSA web-site the same day as you receive this letter
and the 26 Jan 08 Booking
Form.
Yours faithfully
DAVID HALEY
(Hon Secretary)
